Hi!
I apologize for asking, but I need your help with not one, not two, but three things today. However, I have good intentions, and you will be rewarded for all three.
The TLDR;
- Help me make this newsletter a better experience for you
- Help me create the product design course that you would want
- Stop using Google Analytics
Help me design a better newsletter
There are many new subscribers receiving this newsletter now. Hi! I don't usually send these "help me help you" requests, but the good thing is that you can help shape the course of this newsletter right from the start!
You may or may not be aware that I recently switched my newsletter to Convertkit. I prefer Convertkit because, despite making millions in ARR, they still exude a cool indie vibe. I always try to support companies like them whenever possible (more on that below!).
They also have a Creator Network, which essentially recommends other similar newsletters. I wanted to suggest more newsletters, so I signed up for several the other day. After all, you should be able to put your money where your mouth is. However, I did not love what I received from these creators. Generally, they all seem to belong to at least one of these categories:
- The reading experience is poorly designed. At best, it reminds me of Google Docs, which I think is a terrible product and proof that even a poor product can achieve huge market traction.
- A gateway to their Youtube channel. I’m not sure if it’s my age but I’m struggling to follow any creators on Youtube and their highly energetic approach. What about you?
- It's all about growth. Become a millionaire in 30 days. Work only 4 hours per week. Grow your newsletter to a massive amount of subscribers in a week. I wrote about chasing growth in 2017.
I want to make sure that I am providing you with content that you enjoy. To help me do that, I've created a quickquestionnaire with only 5 questions. As a thank you for your time, there's a Keanu gif waiting for you at the end.

I’m building a course
I'm putting this out there for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, once I say it out loud, I'm committed to it. Whether it's blogging, writing a book, or building a course, it's easy to get distracted by everything that needs to happen "now." Second, I want your input on the course curriculum so I can be confident that I'm developing something that's truly needed.

Are you using Google Analytics?
I understand; I felt the same way for many, many years. When you're accustomed to having software run "for free," paying for it can seem foolish. But the truth is, no software is truly "free." That's why I switched my website analytics over to Fathom a few years ago.
Why? Because I want to support more indie creators (which, compared to Google, is pretty much everyone, but that's a different story). And I couldn't be happier with the decision. And if you're currently using Google Analytics, Fathom now has a fancy GA importer so you won't lose any metrics! Plus, it's fully GDPR compliant, so you won't need an annoying cookies banner.
If you use this link to sign up, you'll receive $10 off your first invoice (and I'll get a cut too!).
Once again, I'm thrilled with my choice.

Can’t believe you made it all the way down here!
If you’re curious, the Convertkit newsletters I am recommending are:
Jerry Seinfeld on becoming a better comedian:
He said the way to be a better comic was to create better jokes and the way to create better jokes was to write every day.
Again, thank you a million times for helping me out. More (better) content soon!
